Information We Collect

Information you give us:

• Your name, email address, and user ID when you create an account (directly or through Google sign-in)
• Case details you enter, such as your state, county, case type, case stage, case number, and the names of the court, judge, and other parties
• Questions you ask and the documents and motions you draft or save
• Court documents you upload (custody orders, support orders, summons, and similar papers)
• Receipt photos and expense records you add to the expense tracker
• Parenting-time logs and calendar events such as hearings and deadlines
• Messages you send us through Report an Issue

Information collected automatically:

• Your device's Internet Protocol (IP) address
• Pages and features you use, with the time and date of access
• Your device type, browser, and operating system

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide the Application, including answering your questions and drafting documents for your state
• Manage your account and subscription
• Respond to your support requests
• Send you important updates about your account or the Application
• Keep the Application secure and fix problems

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your case details or documents for advertising.

Uploaded Documents and Receipt Photos

• Court documents, receipt photos, and other files you upload are stored in private storage. They are not publicly accessible.
• When you ask for a document to be analyzed, a short-lived private link is created and the file is sent to our AI service providers only to produce that analysis.
• Receipt photos are stored with your expense records so you can view them later. They are not sent to AI services.
• Only you, and our administrators when needed to support you or keep the service running, can access your files.

Third-Party Service Providers

We share information with these companies only as needed to run the Application. Each handles data under its own privacy policy.

• Base44 — our app platform. Base44 hosts the Application and stores account data, case information, and uploaded files. It also provides sign-in, email delivery, and the AI features described below.
• Stripe — payment processing for paid plans.
• AI model providers — the companies that operate the large language models behind our AI features. Requests reach them through Base44.
• Google — if you choose Sign in with Google, Google confirms your identity and shares your name and email address with us. The Application also loads fonts from Google Fonts.
• Apple App Store and Google Play — if you install our mobile app, the store you use handles the download under its own terms.

Payments

Subscription payments are processed by Stripe. Your card details go directly to Stripe; we never see or store your full card number. Stripe shares your email address, plan, payment status, and billing dates with us so we can manage your subscription. AI Usage

The Application uses artificial intelligence to answer questions about child support law, draft legal documents, and analyze documents you upload. To do this, the text you enter (including case details you include) and any document you submit for analysis are sent through Base44 to third-party AI model providers. We send only what is needed for your request. AI-generated content is for educational and informational purposes only and is not legal advice.

Data Retention

We keep your data for as long as you have an account.

• You can delete your account at any time from Settings. This permanently deletes your case details, saved and uploaded documents, receipt photos and expense records, parenting-time logs, calendar events, and question history, and cancels any paid subscription right away.
• If you can’t use the button, email Info@carterways.com from your account email and we will delete your account within 30 days and confirm by email.
• Backup copies held by our service providers are removed on their normal schedules.
• Payment records are kept by Stripe as required by law and its own policies.

Children's Privacy

We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, contact us at Info@carterways.com and we will delete it promptly.

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, but no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
